Grounded Factory Portraits: Reena Yoga Breakfast Club
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do/ who you are?
Born in New Delhi, India, my journey with yoga started at a very young age. Though my education & career lead me to become an IT entrepreneur, my bond with yoga remained as the one of a teacher-student relationship. I learnt and grew personally & spiritually with yoga as my guru.
Marriage to a Swede brought me to Stockholm 3 years ago. A new beginning allowed me to put my passion for yoga before profession. I met a wonderful Swedish yoga teacher and nutritionist, Thea Portefaix and together we created Yoga Breakfast Club.
Yoga Breakfast Club provides wellness as a service to private & corporate members. We offer traditional meditation and yoga practice followed by a healthy breakfast as a much desired & well deserving morning ritual.
What does yoga mean to you?
Yoga is my go-to-guru. A sacred space, where my personal learnings begin. Every practice takes me deeper within to grow and become grounded at the same time.
Do you have a favorite studio/ retreat you want to share with us?
It's not a studio nor a retreat. It is the Isha Yoga Ashram in Coimbatore, India.
Created as a powerful center for inner growth, the ashram attracts people from all parts of the world and is unique in its offering of all the four major paths of yoga - Gnana (knowledge), Karma (action), Kriya (energy), and Bhakthi (devotion).
Pls share your best tip on how to stay grounded on and off the mat.
It may sound like an oxymoron, but childlike energy for eagerness to learn is the best way to keep grounded. Learnings on the mat, unravel the real you. Discoveries off the mat, help you grow. Don't be afraid to grow, it only strengthens the roots.
